Challenge: San Mateo County’s planned launch of a Community Choice program required a majority of its residential and commercial ratepayers to support a radical idea in energy consumption.
Solution: Green Ideals partnered with a local agency inexperienced in CCA, to provide seasoned guidance for strategy, messaging, design and enrollment.
San Mateo County and its 20 cities had voted to move forward with the launch of a countywide Community Choice program. With 4 CCAs already operational in the state at that time, they sought experienced guides to ensure that this widely diverse, largely urban population would understand and embrace the Peninsula Clean Energy brand. The program launched successfully in October 2016.
